Group Rating Safety Accountability

Workplace safety is an important component of group rating programs. If you are an employer in one of our groups, this letter outlines the safety services expectations for you, your association sponsor, Frank Gates/Avizent and BWC. BWC also encourages all employers to implement a 10-Step Business Plan for Safety.

Two Hour Safety Training Requirement

BWC requires group-rated employers who had a claim in the two preceding calendar years to attend two hours of safety training:

  • Private employers (July 1, 2011 rate year) – deadline June 30, 2012
  • Public employer (January 1, 2011 rate year) – deadline December 31, 2011
